Born in Sydney (1963 ) & resident in London, Newson is one of the rising stars on the young international design scene. His projects recall the archetypal forms of his land: aboriginal artefacts, pebbles shaped by the ocean waves, the colours of coral, all transformed into the context of sophisticated contemporary technologies. This bottle opener was the first of his projects for Alessi. The body, which is entirely in 18/10 stainless steel, is coated with an injection of transparent plastic resin which produces a precious visual effect.
