Cosenza stuffed Figs
After the harvest, the figs only of the Dottato variety are used, are sundried on cannizze (cane grilles), baked in the oven, flavored and stuffed. These figs are relatively small and yellowish in color, with tiny seeds that are almost imperceptible in the mouth. Cosenza Stuffed Figs are either skewered on small crosses or on sticks, or arranged in crown, plait, or ball shapes and flavored with fig honey.
